Re: Mark Warburton Hammers Chat Interview
Watched it last night. Got the impression that he was brought in to help change the team tactically and at some point Moyes said "Na it's not working we will go back to what we know". Warburton was hardly going to say that if he remains friends with Moyes. He probably thought he outlasted his usefulness if Moyes wasn't going to go that way. Interesting that he gave the impression that he wouldn't have been happy re the Antonio interview if he had been manager. I think he decided to leave before he said something he would regret.

Re: Mark Warburton Hammers Chat Interview
I thought that was a great interview and put a lot of conspiracy theories to bed. Warburton and Downes were Moyes choices. All the player signings are Moyes choices.

Tactics are sorted over a pint or just before a training session. Warburton left because he has fundamental differences over Moyes tactical approach nor making decisions after being a manager. He also couldn't add the usual benefits he claims to bring to management under Moyes so apparently decided to leave with no future job prospects...

He'll get a job managing a Championship or foreign club soon I expect

Re: Mark Warburton Hammers Chat Interview
I think the main problem was that Moyes doesn't delegate, he wants a to do everything himself. The only job he delegated was set plays, which Nolan did, but last season he even took that back and that didn't go well

Re: Mark Warburton Hammers Chat Interview
To be fair he managed Brentford rangers notts forest and QPR so hardly just because he's a mate. Was known to try and play possession football and generally, tried to attack.

Yes, can sometimes be a lack of personality or not believing in yourself enough, or just not wanting the hassle. A good example is Southgate's no 2 Steve (Stevie to his friends) Holland, meant to be an immense coach.

Don't know about that (re cones). Funny thing is that some coaches seem to do a great job behind the scenes, but can't take the step up to manager.

Re: Mark Warburton Hammers Chat Interview
Well I would like to think some businesses are more cut throat and you get picked on ability, and not all managers would just pick a mate, but he said it like it was the most normal thing in the end, zero self awareness. Would have been funny if Geo responded and said so you got the job because Moyes is your mate, instead, he said in a high pitched tone ''well that's interesting''.

What it really proves is these backroom coaches really are just there to put the cones out.

That's the way of the world. Did you think otherwise?

Re: Mark Warburton Hammers Chat Interview
I turned it off literally after one minute when he was asked how he got the job at West Ham and answered ''just by coincidence our families (Warburtons and Moye's) holidayed at the same hotel in Florida every summer, so we got to know each other and started playing golf together and when the job become available David called me and asked me if I fancied it''

That was enough for me, he gave him the job because he was his mate, just one big fucking boys club, like British politics.

Re: Mark Warburton Hammers Chat Interview
Thought Warburton came across well. As respectful as he was, it wasn't a great reflection on our problems last season and how we improve though.

Moyes isn't just someone that couldn't be a number 2. He's clearly someone that needs his number 2 to be pretty peripheral. He's lost 3 now.

I have little faith in Moyes finding an ideal replacement. Nor coping with a DOF well, but he's done better than I ever expected, so....

Re: Mark Warburton Hammers Chat Interview
I saw a bit of it, must be all lies. Moyes is only responsible for the good sugings all the failed signings were Sully specials and Warburton was brought in against his wishes..

*but he let himself down when referring to the fans as greedy when daring to criticise moyes*

AI, it was a decent interview but he let himself when referring to the fans as greedy when daring to moyes. in fact, he was contradicting himself as he admitted he was brought in to improve the style of football, yet moyesesaurus continued with his low block his parking shite

Thanks Aberdeen.

This is a really good listen and answers a few questions that us fans have had regarding our transfer decisions, tactics etc.

Well done to Geo for asking some good questions.
